Leonhard Frank Duch (born in Berlin, 1940) is a Brazilian artist known for his conceptual art and mail art, particularly his responses to the Brazilian military dictatorship. In 1979, out of concern for repressive actions, Duch initiated the 'I Am An Artist' mail art project, inviting artists worldwide to create protective images against dictatorial regimes. This project, which served as a conceptual 'book' or art kit, disseminated themes of freedom and artistic resistance through the postal system. Duch's work contributes significantly to the history of political mail art.
